Kwanlin Klassic-Community Event
WHAT: A day of ski activities for youth skiers from Yukon communities
WHEN: Thursday March 25th, 2010 *** NEW DATE!
WHERE: Kwanlin Koyotes Ski Club in Whitehorse
WHY: To celebrate skiers from communities, learn about remarkable First Nation Yukon Skiers, encourage inter-community co-operation, learn new ski skills as you test the skills already acquired.
HOW: all communities will recieve an invitation but, contact Amanda at 867-332-4734 if you want to chat more about this event.
PARTICIPATION BONUSES: gift from Cross Country Canada, free lunch provided by Kwanlin Dun First Nation,
Tentative Schedule:
10:00 am
Arrival of participants (participants will have access to wall tents, outside fire and Kwanlin Koyote Cabin)
10:00 – 10:30am
Introductions, division of groups–distribute CCC hats to be worn through day, talk from Gary Bailie on First Nation skiers from Yukon and the role skiing can play in a healthy lifestyle.
10:45-11:45 am
Games and Activities Stations. Teams will rotate through each station
11:45-1:15 pm
Two groups will be created. One will go have lunch and one will stay for a Terrain Park Relay. After 45 mins the groups will switch.
Lunch Provided- moose stew and bannock provided by Kwanlin Dun First Nation
1:30-2:00 pm
