Note: Coaching Certification Cross Country Canada Policy – Minimum Mandatory Qualifications
Coaches must complete a coaching workshop and RCMP check in order to supervise, instruct or coach ski activities for children under 16 years of age.
If an individual assisting a group and is following behind the last skier, or helping to put on gloves and skis, they do not require minimum training…only an RCMP check.

1) INTRO TO COMMUNITY COACHING COURSE (ICC) – AVAILABLE ONLINE! This first step towards becoming certified is now available online! An individual must take both “Initiation to Coaching” module (1hr) and the “Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC)” module (4-5hrs). There is a small fee for these two on-line courses for which likely your ski program will provide reimbursement. After completing these two modules an individual is considered to be “a Community Coach in Training”, and is eligible to take the Community Coaching Workshop. You MUST complete these 2 online courses before you can attend the NCCP course. But, you can register for the NCCP course before you’ve completed the online courses. SIGN UP NOW! | 2) COMMUNITY COACHING (CC) WORKSHOP – January 11-12, 2020 in Whitehorse This is a 1.5-day on-skis practical workshop focused on teaching you how to coach young people skiing. Saturday, Jan 11, 2020: 9 am – 3 pm (time tentative) Sunday, Jan 12, 2020: 9 am – 1 pm (time tentative) Cost: $50.00 Location: Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club. Bring your fun, your skis and appropriate winter clothing. Also bring food and drink for yourself. After completing this workshop, an individual is considered to be “Community Coach Trained”.
